Thanks for sitting down with Confidence Daily! Tell us about what you do.
I'm a brand strategist and designer for coaches and consultants on the path to seven figures. I help my clients create, communicate, and deliver value through strategic brand and website designs that are professional, trustworthy, and profitable. I believe you can build a business that's authentic to your personal values/personality and get incredible results.
How do you cultivate confidence?
I believe we create confidence through what we do and how we do it. I know that sounds vague and abstract, but it plays out in so many (very real) ways in our personal lives and our businesses. When I choose to set my prices just higher than what feels comfortable, believing that my products or services are worth it, that creates confidence—even before anybody buys. When I choose to stop working at the end of the day and relax with my family instead of continuing to hustle, believing that what I've done is enough, creates confidence. When I pay for professional brand photos, believing I am successful and beautiful even though I'd still like to lose a few pounds, creates confidence. It's a cycle of action, belief, and visibility.
What does being a woman-owned business mean to you?
Being a woman-owned business means I get to run my business however I want! I currently work three days a week, helping powerful coaches and consultants build and attract clients who align with their values and respect their work. I don't follow a lot of conventional marketing methods because they don't feel good to me, and I'm okay with that!
What was your business origin story?
I started out as a freelance designer selling website glow-ups for $250. I was working myself to the bone and profiting about $5/hour. I invested in a business coach who helped me clarify my offers, but it wasn't until I developed a professional brand that I saw how valuable my services were. I started charging more and more, refining my message and speaking directly to my ideal client. Today I charge $10-15k per project and I have more satisfied clients than ever before.
Okay, coming up with a great idea and actually taking the steps to become an entrepreneur and launch your company are two very different things. How d:
As women, sometimes we can be real perfectionists! I had "started" my business many times in my head but never put it out there for the world to see. There were several moments that inspired me to really jump in, but what made the biggest difference was creating accountability for myself by sharing my business page on my personal profile (scary, right?). That way I was committed and I couldn't turn back.
Sometimes entrepreneurship can be a hard and isolating journey. How do you stay confident along the way?
Finding the right support in your entrepreneurship journey is vital to building a sustainable business. If we're honest with ourselves, we realize that it won't matter how much money we make if we're miserable doing it. I've invested in many coaches, masterminds, and group programs where I can get the emotional and business support I need to make my business a joy.
If you had to list three traits or attributes that have been pivotal for your success, what would they be?
My deep thinking, my aesthetic sense, and my attention to detail when it comes to branding and business. I can listen to my clients and find the common threads in what they're saying (and what they're not saying) to understand their unique position AND the way to communicate that visually. I take my clients seriously and help them see serious results.
What's one myth you'd like to debunk about your line of work?
I think many entrepreneurs are afraid of AI, especially when it comes to design. Anytime there's a change in the way we create, there's going to be fear of the unknown. What I believe is that AI will raise the bar and increase the need for authentic, value-led brands.
What advice would you give to burgeoning entrepreneurs?
Don't be afraid to invest in your brand. The way people perceive you and the way you communicate your value and message will have long-lasting effects on your business. My clients usually see a return on investment before we've even finished working together! Don't be short-sighted and make decisions that give you a quick cash burst but don't work for your business long-term.
What words do you live by?
Life isn't about finding yourself, life is about creating yourself!
Any final words of wisdom?
